{"id":285,"date":"2013-04-17T18:56:40","date_gmt":"2013-04-17T18:56:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tabletop.magigames.org\/?p=285"},"modified":"2013-06-29T22:00:29","modified_gmt":"2013-06-29T22:00:29","slug":"gzgs-15mm-fuel-drums","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/tabletop.magigames.org\/?p=285","title":{"rendered":"GZG&#8217;s 15mm Fuel Drums"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I painted up <a href=\"http:\/\/shop.groundzerogames.net\/index.php?_a=viewProd&amp;productId=1556\" target=\"_blank\">GZG&#8217;s 15mm fuel drums (type A)<\/a>\u00a0the other day. \u00a0They were easy to paint. \u00a0I primed them black, dry brushed on some gray, then a smaller dry brush of red-brown for rust.<\/p>\n<p>I based them on some small wood rectangles, then glued some sand on the bases. \u00a0Then I washed the sand a sepia color, then dry brushed the sand with a tan. \u00a0When that was all dry, I brushed on some very thin PVA glue-water mix to hold it all together a bit more permanently. The I dry brushed some more tan, as I felt it needed a bit more.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/tabletop.magigames.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/gzg_15mm_barrels_front.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-284\" title=\"GZG Fuel Drums\" alt=\"GZG Fuel Drums\" src=\"http:\/\/tabletop.magigames.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/gzg_15mm_barrels_front.jpg\" width=\"900\" height=\"248\" \/><\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/tabletop.magigames.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/gzg_15mm_barrels_2.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-283\" title=\"GZG Fuel Drums\" alt=\"GZG 15mm Fuel Drums\" src=\"http:\/\/tabletop.magigames.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/gzg_15mm_barrels_2.jpg\" width=\"900\" height=\"281\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>That makes for some cheap and easy terrain. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>In the past, I had assembled a card stock &#8220;print-and-fold&#8221; barrel, and it took a lot of time to cut the small bits out, and gluing such a small thing was tricky. \u00a0I think these metal barrels we easier, quicker, and much more durable.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I painted up GZG&#8217;s 15mm fuel drums (type A)\u00a0the other day. \u00a0They were easy to paint. \u00a0I primed them black, dry brushed on some gray, then a smaller dry brush of red-brown for rust.
