{"id":214,"date":"2013-04-09T18:33:16","date_gmt":"2013-04-09T18:33:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tabletop.magigames.org\/?p=214"},"modified":"2013-06-29T22:00:29","modified_gmt":"2013-06-29T22:00:29","slug":"sandbag-terrain-made-from-green-stuff","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/tabletop.magigames.org\/?p=214","title":{"rendered":"Sandbag Terrain Made From Green Stuff"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This past week, when I wasn&#8217;t at Kingdom-con, I made some sandbag terrain from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bananaking.net\/cento\/workshop\/conv_green.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Green Stuff<\/a>. \u00a0I&#8217;m not going to get into how to work with Green Stuff, the link I provided covers that.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve never worked with Green Stuff before. \u00a0It wasn&#8217;t too difficult. \u00a0I made 2 different sandbag walls, using 2 different methods.<\/p>\n<p>I was making some bases for <a href=\"http:\/\/tabletop.magigames.org\/?p=140\" target=\"_blank\">Khurasan&#8217;s Female Auxiliaries<\/a>\u00a0and I had some Green Stuff left over, so I made the first sandbag wall. \u00a0A few days later, I made the second one. \u00a0The first one, I kept the sandbags connected in a row, not cutting all the way through Green Stuff. \u00a0For the second set, I decided to make individual sandbags, and stack them.<a style=\"font-size: 1.5rem; line-height: 1.5;\" title=\"Permalink to Painting Khurasan\u2019s Female Auxiliaries\" href=\"http:\/\/tabletop.magigames.org\/?p=140\" rel=\"bookmark\"><br \/>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/tabletop.magigames.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/contiguous_soldier.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-210\" alt=\"contiguous_soldier\" src=\"http:\/\/tabletop.magigames.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/contiguous_soldier.jpg\" width=\"900\" height=\"371\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/tabletop.magigames.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/indy_soldier.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-207\" title=\"Green Stuff Sandbag Terrain 15mm\" alt=\"Green Stuff Sandbag Terrain 15mm\" src=\"http:\/\/tabletop.magigames.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/indy_soldier.jpg\" width=\"900\" height=\"391\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/tabletop.magigames.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/both_front.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-213\" title=\"Green Stuff Sandbag Terrain 15mm\" alt=\"Green Stuff Sandbag Terrain 15mm\" src=\"http:\/\/tabletop.magigames.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/both_front.jpg\" width=\"900\" height=\"254\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/tabletop.magigames.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/both_rear.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-212\" alt=\"both_rear\" src=\"http:\/\/tabletop.magigames.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/both_rear.jpg\" width=\"900\" height=\"293\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I think the individual sandbags looks way better. \u00a0It didn&#8217;t take much longer to do, either.<\/p>\n<p>I have a tool that has a textured grip, so I rolled the grip across the top of the sandbags for texture. \u00a0Paint, black wash, sepia wash, and a dry brush.<\/p>\n<p>I based them on thick cardboard, because that&#8217;s what I have around the house. \u00a0Vinyl wall spackle mixed with sand in a thin layer on the cardboard, then some sand and very little static grass, since my battle mat is desert themed.<\/p>\n<p>I hope to mess with the Green Stuff some more in the future.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This past week, when I wasn&#8217;t at Kingdom-con, I made some sandbag terrain from Green Stuff. \u00a0I&#8217;m not going to get into how to work with Green Stuff, the link I provided covers that.
